Annual Benefit

13th Annual Garden Party

Benefit Chair Sabrina Pray Forsythe with past GADC President Caralyn Stevens.

A perfect sunny day greeted over 400 women to Greenwich Adult Day Care’s (GADC) 13th Annual Garden Party chaired by Sabrina Forsythe.  The luncheon was held May 7, 2007 by the waterside at Riverside Yacht Club.  Gorgeous orchid centerpieces decorated the tent and set the stage for a delicious luncheon and fabulous fashion show by Saks Fifth Avenue – Greenwich featuring eleven Greenwich community volunteers as models with makeup by Bobbi Brown.  Another highlight of the Garden Party was the extensive silent auction that featured once in a lifetime experiences and items and brought in a record breaking $28,000 for GADC.

This year’s Benefit was the most successful one ever held!  Thanks to the very talented and inspiring chair, Sabrina Forsythe, and her amazing committee, the Benefit was completely sold-out and raised over $125,000 to support GADC senior programs and services.  Each year the Benefit continues to grow and exceed all goals.  This year was such a success that Sabrina will chair next year’s annual Garden Party Benefit!

Garden Party Glamour - 2006

Co-Chairs Darby Cartun and Leah Marmon hosted a spectacular 12th Annual Benefit for GADC.  The event continues to grow in size and this year we raised over $115,000!  The event took place May 8, 2006 at the Riverside Yacht Club.  The energy and buzz that day could not have been higher!

Over 380 women were welcomed on the shores of the Long Island Sound with champagne, wine, and a fantastic silent auction.  The auction featured over 100 items ranging from Cars and Cocktails, in-home Wine Tasting, to 100 daffodils planted for you by “The Intrepid Gardeners” to private sails on the Sound.  The auction raised over $27,000!

The guests dined in a tent along the waters edge while treated to a stunning fashion show by SAKS Fifth Avenue – Greenwich and makeup by CHANEL.  The fabulous fashions were modeled by 11 local “celebs,” chosen for their impact in the community.

One of the highlights this year was GADC’s special honoree Mrs. Carla Wallach, a former member of the non-profit’s Board of Directors, and the founder and chair of its first three benefits.  Mrs. Wallach is well-known in the community for her entrepreneurial and philanthropic zeal, as well as for her passionate professional writing.

Garden Party Glamour could not have been possible without the support of our underwriters, the hard work of our dedicated and passionate committee and co-chairs, and the many wonderful women and families who attended or gave gifts in support.  Thank you!
